Flydubai Expands Italian Operations with Significant Increase in Milan Bergamo Flights from July

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE carrier flydubai has escalated its flight offerings to Italy to meet the surge in international travel demand. The Emirates News Agency confirms that flydubai is boosting its presence in Italy by adding more flights across key commercial hubs. Starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, while maintaining its daily round-trip services to Naples, strengthening its market footprint in Italy.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This new schedule broadens flydubai’s operational reach in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through August’s end. The airline also announced operational adjustments related to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. During maintenance periods at Naples International Airport, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily Dubai to Naples service to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport from November 1 to November 30, 2026. Flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026, with passengers holding existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this transition.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connectivity via Dubai Hub

The expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples are operated under the existing codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates. This cooperation allows travelers to benefit from integrated travel plans, single-ticket purchases, coordinated flight schedules, and through-checked baggage across both airlines. Utilizing the joint network through Dubai’s central hub, passengers connecting from Italian airports gain easier access to major long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct routes to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity increase aligns with broader aviation trends across the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers continue to grow steadily after the pandemic. The additional flights support increased bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The double daily flights to Milan-Bergamo offer more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s financial and industrial hub, while daily flights to Southern Italy meet rising seasonal demand from tourists exploring the historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s CEO, commented on the network expansion, emphasizing that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European network. He underlined that maintaining consistent regional connectivity remains a priority, alongside a long-term commitment to reaching underserved markets. Al Ghaith pointed out that market data demonstrates flydubai’s strategic growth in Italy, with increased flight frequencies designed to meet the rising passenger flows between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel volume accelerates during the upcoming winter season.

Major Airports Serve as Direct Access Points for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, highlighted that expanding direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the importance of the Italian market for the airline. Efendi explained that non-stop connections allow international travelers to leverage the combined network of flydubai and Emirates, enabling seamless access to popular global destinations via Dubai. The airline’s commercial teams have confirmed readiness to handle the increased flight schedules, ensuring reliable operations for both passenger and cargo services.

This operational growth in Italy is part of flydubai’s broader fleet expansion and international network development plans. As the airline continues acquiring modern narrow-body aircraft, it aims to enhance frequencies on high-demand European routes. The expanded Italian flights reinforce Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movement between European origins and destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
